There Is No Death Thereof

Proverbs 12:28: In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

In the way of righteousness there is no death. In Romans 6:23 the Bible says that the wages of sin is death. In the way of righteousness there is no sin and there is no death. There is life there. What is the way of righteousness? The way of righteousness is the life that Jesus gives us when we receive Him.

John 10:10: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Romans 6:4: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Galatians 2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Before we received Christ we were spiritually dead. When we receive Jesus He destroys that spiritual deadness and He gives us spiritual life. He helps us to live in the newness of the new life within us. The way of righteousness is simply living in obedience to Him. It is living without sinning. But sometimes we sin and when we do, we are not in the way of righteousness. He knew that we would sometimes fail and that is why the Bible tells us we should walk in newness of life. He has provided a way to get back into the way of righteousness when we sin.

1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The physical life of a believer does come to an end. He dies. But that death is a promotion. The way of righteousness, the new life, the spiritual life continues forever. That is the life in which we will never die. It not only continues, it is the only life we will be living after our physical bodies die. There will be no way of slipping out of the way of righteousness ever again. I want to stay in the way of righteousness here and now by avoiding sin. How about you?
